A citizen in Meshgin Shahr, Ardabil province, has been arrested by IRGC intelligence forces, according to the city’s prosecutor. Officials claim the individual spread public anxiety online.
Tasnim News Agency reported that the prosecutor accused the detainee of having ties to separatist groups abroad through cyberspace. The individual allegedly created content that authorities say promoted separatist ideas, insulted Islamic values, and supported anti-regime organizations.
Babak Nonahal, the prosecutor, stated that the IRGC Intelligence Organization of Ardabil Province was responsible for the arrest. The individual has since been transferred to prison.
