CJ Gardner-Johnson has made his rounds in the NFL lately, bouncing between teams like it’s nothing. After short stints with the Saints, Eagles, and Lions, he’s now with the Texans — and he’s already making waves, in the worst way.
Before even playing a snap for Houston, Gardner-Johnson called out a younger teammate publicly in an attempt to get his jersey number. Not exactly the most professional move, especially considering his reputation.
This isn’t his first time stirring the pot either. He left Detroit after just three games (due to injury), but still found time to bash the fans and the organization on his way out. And let’s not forget how things ended with the Eagles — who gave him another chance, only to move on pretty quickly again.
CJ’s talent is there, sure. But at this point, his track record is starting to speak louder than his game. The Texans might want to keep an eye on how this one plays out.

Brian Branch Says Lions Pulled Him Out of a Dark Spot
Lions safety Brian Branch got real during a recent podcast, saying draft night in 2023 was one of the lowest points of his life. He was expecting to go in the first round, even traveled to the event, but didn’t get picked until No. 45 overall.
That night sucked for him — but in hindsight, it might’ve been the best thing to happen. The Lions scooped him up, and he’s blossomed into a star. In just his second season, Branch was a Pro Bowler and put up serious numbers: over 100 tackles, 4 picks, and standout grades from PFF — especially in run defense.
Despite the initial disappointment, Branch landed exactly where he needed to be. Now, he’s one of the key pieces in Detroit’s defense and looks like he’s only getting better.
