The Detroit Lions have announced their full coaching staff for the 2025 season. The staff has undergone significant changes, with several new hires and promotions.

On the offensive side, new coordinator John Morton was hired from the Denver Broncos. Other new hires include:

  • Tashard Choice (running backs coach)
  • Bruce Gradkowski (offensive assistant)
  • Justin Mesa (offensive quality control coach)
  • Tyler Roehl (tight ends coach)

On the defensive side, Kelvin Sheppard has been promoted to defensive coordinator. New defensive hires include:

  • Caleb Collins (defensive assistant)
  • August Mangin (defensive assistant)
  • Kacy Rodgers (run game coordinator/defensive line coach)

Returning defensive staff members include:

  • David Corrao (senior defensive assistant/outside linebackers coach)
  • Shaun Dion Hamilton (linebackers coach)
  • Jim O’Neil (defensive assistant/safeties coach)
  • Dre Thompson (defensive quality control coach)
  • Deshea Townsend (passing game coordinator/defensive backs coach)

Dave Fipp returns as special teams coordinator, with Jett Modkins as his assistant.

The Lions’ sports performance and strength and conditioning staff includes:

  • Mike Clark (director of sports performance)
  • Jill Costanza (director of sports science)
  • Josh Schuler (head strength and conditioning coach)
  • Corey Smith (assistant strength and conditioning coach)
  • Jess Giambra (chief of staff/head coach administration)
