The Washington Commanders are making their first NFC Championship Game appearance in 33 years, and they have rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels to thank for helping them get there. With two thrilling postseason victories, the Commanders have reached an impressive 14-5 record. They triumphed over the Detroit Lions 45-31 and narrowly edged out the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20.

As they prepare to face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in a bid for the Super Bowl, the Commanders have just announced exciting news about Daniels. The standout rookie has been named the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) Rookie of the Year, capping off a remarkable season in Washington.

Daniels earned the award after impressing throughout the year, with the PFWA’s official rookie rankings naming him the top offensive rookie. Meanwhile, Jared Verse, a defensive lineman for the Los Angeles Rams, was named Defensive Rookie of the Year. Daniels’ achievements have been nothing short of historic for the Commanders. Under his leadership, they’ve reached their first NFC Championship Game in over three decades and secured their first playoff victory since 2005.

This season, Daniels has thrown for 3,568 yards and 25 touchdowns, with an impressive 69.0% completion rate. He has also made a significant impact on the ground, adding six rushing touchdowns and 891 yards.

As the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 draft, Daniels is quickly proving to be a game-changer for the Commanders. Fans are eagerly awaiting the next chapter as the team faces the Eagles on January 26 at 3 p.m. ET.
