The New England Patriots are on the hunt for a new starting center after letting go of David Andrews last week. While there are a few internal candidates vying for the position, the team might look outside the roster to strengthen the offensive line in front of Drake Maye.
One name that could be on the radar is Garrett Bradbury, the Minnesota Vikings center. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Vikings might release Bradbury if a trade doesn’t work out, and with his $4.9 million base salary, it’s unclear if any team will want to take him on. If he does hit the market, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Patriots jump in.
Bradbury was drafted 18th overall in 2019 and had high expectations for his career. While he wasn’t a standout, Pro Football Focus ranked him the 27th-best center last season. The 29-year-old played every snap for a Vikings team that finished 14-3, showing his durability.
He might not be a game-changer, but if Bradbury is available, the Patriots could see him as an upgrade over their current center options.
