The Cowboys face mounting challenges as they head into their Week 14 clash with the Lions — their latest injury report reveals they’ll be without a starting offensive lineman and one of their sack-artists. For Dallas, that’s a double whammy: the offensive front suffers a blow, and their pass rush suddenly looks thinner.
On the offensive side, tackle Tyler Guyton was listed as a “did not practice” (DNP), putting his availability in doubt. Without him, the Cowboys’ protection unit could be scrambled — a risky scenario against a physical Lions defensive front.
Defensively, edge presence took a hit as veteran Jadeveon Clowney — known for generating pressure and sacks — also didn’t practice, raising serious doubts about his ability to play. Losing his disruptive skill set could blunt Dallas’ ability to apply heat on Detroit’s quarterback.
For the Lions, the news couldn’t come at a better time. Detroit is already battling injuries on its own side of the ball — including at wide receiver and across the offensive line — but seeing Dallas enter the game undermanned offers a potential advantage.
If Dallas has to shuffle its offensive line and go without a key pass-rusher, Detroit could exploit mismatches, especially in the trenches or through quicker reads and routes. The Cowboys’ compromised status may very well shift momentum in favor of the Lions — assuming Detroit can capitalize.
