Cowboys Meet with Promising RB Prospect Who’s Ready to Shine in Dallas

With the 2025 NFL Draft around the corner, the Dallas Cowboys are doing their homework on potential picks. One of the latest prospects they’ve met with is Texas Tech running back Tahj Brooks, and he’s all in on the idea of playing in Dallas.

Brooks, who led the Red Raiders in rushing last season, had an informal meeting with the Cowboys during Big 12 Pro Days at the Ford Center  Dallas’ own facility. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer was there, keeping an eye on the action.

The standout RB put up impressive numbers in 2024, racking up 1,505 rushing yards, 17 touchdowns, and ranking 10th in the FBS with 1,704 all-purpose yards. He even set Texas Tech’s all-time rushing record with 4,557 career yards.

After meeting with Dallas, Brooks had nothing but praise for the organization.

“It was a great meeting, great knowledge,” Brooks told *The Dallas Morning News.* “I would love to get drafted here. It’s a great city. It’d be a blessing.”

NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein describes Brooks as a “stout runner and workhorse,” which could make him an intriguing option for a Cowboys team looking to bolster its backfield.
