Star Pass-Rusher Sends a Bold Message to Dallas’ Front Office
The Dallas Cowboys are heading into a pivotal offseason, and Micah Parsons is making sure the message is loud and clear. After a disappointing 7-10 season, riddled with injuries and capped by a coaching change, the team faces a critical period to reshape its roster. And Parsons, the heart of the Cowboys’ defense, wasted no time in stirring up conversation.
Parsons Reacts to NFL’s Salary Cap Boost
On Wednesday, ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported that the 2025 NFL salary cap will land between $277.5 million and $281.5 million—a massive jump from last year’s $255.4 million.
Parsons’ response? A simple but powerful “Lfg!” on social media.
For those unfamiliar, the phrase translates to “Let’s (expletive) go!”—a clear sign that Parsons is eager for the Cowboys to make moves and take advantage of their new financial flexibility.
Will Dallas Finally Be Aggressive?
The Cowboys have a history of being cautious, sometimes to their detriment. While other teams make bold free-agency splashes, Dallas often lets negotiations drag on, limiting their ability to make impactful signings.
Parsons himself is due for a massive extension, as he’s set to play on his fifth-year option worth $24 million. A long-term deal with a hefty signing bonus could free up crucial cap space—if the Cowboys act quickly. But history suggests they might hesitate.
Last season, for example, they had the opportunity to restructure Dak Prescott’s contract early, creating cap room to potentially sign a player like Derrick Henry. Instead, they delayed, only to later claim they lacked the cap space for major moves.
Parsons Calls for Front Office Action
Parsons isn’t just hoping for change—he’s demanding it. Speaking to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, he urged the Cowboys to take a more aggressive approach.
“The talent is there. We’ve just got to be aggressive the same way (other teams) did,” Parsons said. “I don’t want to sit back and watch other teams build and build and us stay the same. Definitely some call to action. I want to see us become aggressive and get some players that will come in and make an impact. I want to see us bring back our own players. That’s just as important. Let’s see what we can do there.”
Will Jerry Jones Listen?
With free agency opening on March 12, the clock is ticking. Parsons is ready to see Dallas act like a contender. The question now is whether Jerry Jones and the Cowboys’ front office will finally break their pattern—or if they’ll once again watch as other teams make the bold moves necessary to win.
