Cowboys Star Micah Parsons Reveals Why He Wants to ‘Punish the Giants’ Every Year

A Personal Grudge Fuels Parsons’ Dominance Over New York

The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants have long been fierce NFC East rivals, but for Micah Parsons, this matchup is more than just a divisional clash. It’s personal.

The Cowboys’ star pass-rusher recently revealed the reason behind his relentless pursuit of dominance over the Giants—he feels betrayed.

A Draft-Day Promise Broken

In an interview with CBS Sports’ Bryant McFadden, Parsons shared a story that likely stings for Giants fans.

“[The Giants] lied to me,” he said. “People don’t know this, they told me if I fell to [the 11th pick in the 2021 draft] they was gonna pick me.”

But instead of selecting Parsons, New York traded back to the 20th overall pick, where they chose Florida wide receiver Kadarius Toney. Meanwhile, Parsons landed in Dallas at No. 12—and the rest is history.

Parsons’ Revenge on the Giants

Feeling snubbed, Parsons has taken every opportunity to make the Giants regret their decision.

“That’s why I punish the Giants every time [I play them],” he explained.

So far, Parsons has recorded 4.5 sacks and 21 total tackles in eight career games against New York. While those numbers may not seem overwhelming, the reality is clear—the Giants have not beaten the Cowboys once since Parsons entered the league.

A Nightmare That Won’t End for New York

For Giants fans, the pain of knowing their team passed on a two-time All-Pro, four-time Pro Bowler, and 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year only deepens with each loss to Dallas. Every sack, every hit, every dominant performance from Parsons serves as a reminder of what could have been.

As long as he wears the star on his helmet, Parsons will continue to take this matchup personally. And for the Giants, that’s a nightmare with no end in sight.
