Crimson Tide in Hot Pursuit of 5-Star WR Cederian Morgan

The Alabama Crimson Tide may be on the verge of landing another explosive weapon, this time in the form of five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan, one of the nation’s most sought-after prospects in the 2026 recruiting class.

Morgan, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound standout from Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City, Alabama, has quickly become the talk of recruiting circles thanks to his elite speed, strong hands, and game-breaking ability. Ranked as the No. 1 wide receiver in Alabama and a top-five national WR according to 247Sports, Morgan has received offers from nearly every powerhouse program in the country—but Alabama is making a strong push to keep him home.

> “Alabama is definitely showing a lot of love,” Morgan said in a recent interview. “They’re telling me I could be the next great one to come through Tuscaloosa.”

Sources close to the recruitment say Morgan has developed a strong relationship with wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard, who has made him a top priority. Head coach Kalen DeBoer is also personally involved, emphasizing how Morgan could be a day-one contributor in Alabama’s fast-paced offensive system.

Morgan’s junior season was nothing short of electrifying. He hauled in 1,315 yards and 17 touchdowns on 68 receptions, routinely torching double coverage and showing a knack for the spectacular. He’s earned comparisons to former Alabama stars like Jerry Jeudy and Jameson Williams, both known for their elite route-running and home-run ability.

> “Cederian is that guy who can completely change the momentum of a game with one play,” said his high school coach, Marcus Perry. “He’s got the work ethic, the mindset, and the talent to be a superstar.”

Alabama isn’t alone in its pursuit. Georgia, LSU, Oregon, and Texas are all heavily involved, and sources say Morgan plans to take official visits this fall. However, insiders believe the Tide may have the inside track, especially if momentum from recent in-state recruiting wins carries over.

> “It would mean a lot to put on for my state,” Morgan said. “Playing for Alabama would be a dream for a lot of people, and I’m definitely thinking about it.”

If Alabama can lock in a commitment from Morgan, it would be a major coup for the 2026 class and a statement that the Tide remain a dominant force in recruiting elite offensive talent—even in the post-Saban era.

With the buzz growing and all eyes on Morgan’s next move, one thing is clear: the Crimson Tide are all in on bringing another five-star phenom to Tuscaloosa.
