Crimson Tide Lands Game-Changer: 5-Star WR Morgan Commits to Alabama

The Alabama Crimson Tide added a major piece to its 2026 recruiting class on Wednesday, securing a commitment from five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan. The Benjamin Russell High School star announced his decision in Alexander City, choosing Alabama over finalists Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Clemson, and Colorado.

Morgan, the No. 2 wide receiver and No. 12 overall player in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports composite, is the third five-star recruit to join Alabama’s 2026 group. He caught 70 passes for 1,162 yards and 14 touchdowns last season, showcasing his elite combination of size, speed, and playmaking ability.

Benjamin Russell head coach Kirk Johnson praised Morgan’s team-first mentality earlier this summer, noting, “He wants to do something special with this team and for this city… A guy with his talent could easily demand the ball, but that’s not Cederian at all.”

247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks compared Morgan’s game to a “luxury sports car,” highlighting his dominant ability in contested catches, large catch radius, and physical tools that give quarterbacks a big target throughout routes.

Morgan’s commitment is the third in as many days for Alabama’s 2026 wide receiver group, joining three-star prospects Owen Cabell from Tennessee and Brian Williams Jr. from Florida. The Crimson Tide’s recent recruiting momentum has vaulted its 2026 class into the top 10 nationally, with Morgan becoming the 17th pledge.

Alabama’s staff, under head coach Kalen DeBoer, has quickly reloaded after Nick Saban’s retirement, signaling that the Tide’s recruiting power remains strong heading into the next era of college football.
