Detroit Lions offensive tackle Dan Skipper didn’t hold back after seeing what many fans called a cheap shot from NFL Films aimed at teammate Brian Branch.
Earlier this week, NFL Films posted — and later deleted — a video that seemed to single out Branch for his recent on-field incident. The clip, which some fans felt painted Branch as “dirty” or “reckless,” sparked outrage across the Lions community.
Skipper, one of the team’s vocal leaders, jumped straight to his teammate’s defense on social media. He blasted the network for what he called a “BS edit,” reminding everyone that Branch plays with heart, not hate.
> “That video was garbage,” Skipper reportedly said. “Brian plays the game the right way. He’s passionate, he’s tough, and he’s one of the hardest workers in this locker room. That’s our guy — period.”
The controversy comes at a tense time for Detroit, following the league’s decision to uphold Branch’s suspension. Still, the Lions locker room has made it clear — they’re standing behind their young star.
Branch himself has kept quiet publicly, but teammates rallying to his defense shows the kind of culture Dan Campbell has built in Detroit: loyalty, unity, and a refusal to back down from anyone — not even the NFL itself.
So while NFL Films may have tried to stir the pot, all they really did was light a fire under this Detroit team.
