Darius Slay Contemplates Final NFL Season: Stay with Eagles or Rejoin Lions

Darius Slay Eyes One More Year—With Eagles or a Return to the Lions?

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay isn’t ready to hang up his cleats just yet. The 34-year-old veteran confirmed on The St. Brown Podcast that he plans to play in 2025, whether that’s in Philadelphia or a potential reunion with the Detroit Lions.

“I’ve got one more left (on my contract), but you know how that works,” Slay said, acknowledging that the Eagles might restructure his deal or move on altogether. If that happens, Detroit could be an intriguing landing spot. When Amon-Ra St. Brown brought up the idea of a Lions return, Slay didn’t rule it out. “For sure, the two spots I would love to always be at is Philly or Detroit,” he said.

Slay, a six-time Pro Bowler, started his career with the Lions before being traded to Philadelphia in 2020. With 28 career interceptions and a Super Bowl ring under his belt, he’d bring veteran leadership to whichever team he suits up for in 2025.
