Details of Trump’s Greenland Takeover Plan Have People Scratching Their Heads

The U.S. is stepping up its game to try and take control of Greenland, and their plan might leave you scratching your head. Sources told The New York Times that Trump’s team is working on a big PR campaign to woo Greenland into the fold. They’re not talking military action, but more like a charm offensive aimed at making Greenland feel like they’re part of something bigger.

One wild move? They’re tying Greenland’s Inuit population to Alaska’s, since the Greenland Inuit originally came from Alaska way back in the 1300s. The idea is to play on their shared heritage to build a connection.

But that’s not all – part of the pitch is to offer Greenland a much better deal than Denmark, which currently gives them about $600 million annually for services. Trump’s team is considering throwing in $10,000 a year for every Greenlander if they go along with the takeover.

Trump’s sold Greenland as a potential economic jackpot, telling residents they’d get rich under U.S. control. But local leaders in both Denmark and Greenland have pushed back against the whole annexation idea.
