Detroit Hunting for Next Explosive Weapon to Line Up with St. Brown

The Detroit Lions are locked in on making their already dangerous offense even more explosive. With Amon-Ra St. Brown continuing his elite run—three straight 100-catch, 1,000-yard seasons—it looks like Detroit is eyeing a perfect complement in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Over the weekend, the Lions hosted Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden for a pre-draft visit. The speedster has been one of the biggest risers during the draft process, and it’s easy to see why. After a strong season with the Longhorns (987 yards, 9 touchdowns), Golden torched the NFL Combine with a 4.30 40-yard dash—firmly planting himself in first-round conversation.

Golden’s blend of speed, route-running, and game-breaking ability has him climbing up boards, and if the Lions make a move to grab him, their offense could enter cheat code territory. With a healthy defense coming back in 2025, adding Golden to an already potent unit might give Detroit one of the most feared teams in the league.

The NFL Draft kicks off April 24th in Green Bay. If Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell want to go all-in on offense, don’t be surprised if Golden is wearing Honolulu Blue by the end of Round 1.
