Detroit Lions Could Snag Another 1,000-Yard Threat to Line Up with Amon-Ra St. Brown

Amon-Ra St. Brown has firmly established himself as the Lions’ go-to guy—but a new mock draft suggests he might not be alone for long.

Pro Football Focus analyst Mason Cameron sees Detroit landing Colorado State wideout Tory Horton in the 2025 NFL Draft. Horton, a Fresno native, posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons before suffering a knee injury that cut his 2024 campaign short. Despite that setback, he’s still drawing serious attention as a potential hidden gem.

Horton’s route-running savvy and separation ability have caught scouts’ eyes. He ranked in the 89th percentile or better in both yards per route and separation rate before his injury. And when he was healthy, he lit up the Mountain West Conference—none more impressive than when he caught 16 balls for 133 yards against Deion Sanders’ Colorado team in 2023. He also torched Boise State for 130 yards and a last-second game-winner.

At 6-foot-3, Horton could be a great complement to St. Brown, especially with Detroit looking to add youth and depth to the receiver room. His game isn’t built on pure speed, but he’s a technician with great instincts—and he could thrive in Dan Campbell’s gritty, competitive system.

While Horton may slide in the draft due to injury concerns, the Lions might see him as a perfect value pick to develop into a long-term weapon alongside their Pro Bowl wideout.
