Detroit Lions Re-Sign Dan Skipper to Bolster O-Line Depth

The Detroit Lions are bringing back veteran offensive lineman Dan Skipper on a one-year contract extension. Skipper, a fan favorite, played in 17 games last season, making five starts and logging 323 offensive snaps. While his PFF grades weren’t elite, his toughness and versatility have made him a reliable depth piece for Detroit’s offensive line.

Beyond his on-field contributions, Skipper has become a cult hero at Ford Field, thanks in part to the infamous illegal touching call against the Cowboys in 2023. Now, whenever his No. 70 is announced as eligible, the crowd erupts in cheers. Dan Campbell and the Lions value his grit and leadership, making this a solid depth move for 2025.
