Detroit Rounds Out 90-Man Squad with Trio of Underrated Pickups

The Detroit Lions have rounded out their 90-man roster with three new additions ahead of training camp, including a familiar name from SEC country.

Former Tennessee running back Jabari Small headlines the trio of signings. Known for his quick feet and downhill style, Small rushed for over 2,000 yards during his college career with the Volunteers. He now joins a crowded backfield room in Detroit, where he’ll look to make his mark and earn a shot at the 53-man roster.

Joining Small are a pair of cornerbacks: Colby Richardson and Kalon Gervin. Richardson, who spent time at LSU, brings a physical presence on the outside, while Gervin — a Detroit native and former Michigan State standout — adds local flavor and versatility in coverage.

These signings may not turn national headlines, but they’re the kind of under-the-radar moves that build depth and competition during camp. With injuries always a factor and surprise breakout players emerging every year, don’t be surprised if one of these additions sticks around longer than expected.
