The Las Vegas Raiders have a habit of letting good players walk, and fans have watched stars like Davante Adams, Josh Jacobs, and Khalil Mack thrive elsewhere. But it’s not just the big names—losing solid contributors has hurt them too. One of those players? Rock Ya-Sin.
Ya-Sin had a solid 2022 season with the Raiders despite dealing with injuries, but the team decided not to bring him back. Their secondary has struggled ever since. While he hasn’t exactly become a star elsewhere, he’s remained a steady presence in the league.
Now, he’s on the move again. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Ya-Sin is signing with the Detroit Lions, where he’ll reunite with another former Raider, Amik Robertson.
Ya-Sin originally entered the league as a second-round pick for the Colts in 2019. He played nine games for the Raiders in 2022, racking up 45 tackles and seven pass breakups. Since then, he’s had stints with the Ravens and 49ers but hasn’t managed a full season without injuries.
Now, he joins a young and energetic Lions secondary under a new defensive coordinator after Aaron Glenn’s departure. Let’s see if this fresh start works out for him in Detroit!
