Detroit’s Trenches Getting Stronger? Lions May Target Interior OL in Draft

Could the Lions Add More Interior OL Talent in the Draft?
Brad Holmes has made one thing clear: the Lions’ offensive line is a priority, and he’s always going to keep it “watered.” With stars like Penei Sewell, Frank Ragnow, and Taylor Decker leading the way, Detroit already has one of the best O-lines in the league. But that doesn’t mean they won’t add more talent—especially if they don’t bring back veteran guard Kevin Zeitler in free agency.

Luckily, this year’s draft class is stacked with interior linemen. Plenty of guys could step in and compete for a spot right away, and versatility is a huge plus. Ohio State’s Donovan Jackson, Alabama’s Tyler Booker, and Georgia’s Tate Ratledge are just a few names that could be available when Detroit picks at No. 28.

Holmes has called the offensive line “the engine” of the team, and with a strong run game and a franchise QB to protect, he’s not taking any chances. Whether it’s in the first round or later on, don’t be surprised if the Lions invest in more talent up front.
