It’s early in the offseason, but leave it to Amon-Ra St. Brown to give Lions fans something to rally around already. In a recent media appearance, the All-Pro wide receiver may have dropped what’s shaping up to be the unofficial (and maybe very official) motto for the 2025 Detroit Lions.
“Super Bowl or nothing.”
Yep, that’s what he said. And honestly? That’s exactly what fans want to hear.
Coming off a 2024 season that ended just short of the Super Bowl stage, St. Brown made it clear: the goal hasn’t changed, and the urgency has only grown. “For us, it’s Super Bowl or nothing,” he told the team’s media crew—a line that might’ve started off as a personal mission but now echoes like a locker room battle cry.
High Expectations, Higher Stakes
The Lions are returning much of their core, and that continuity is a big reason why the Super Bowl dream still feels real in Detroit. Jared Goff, Aidan Hutchinson, Jahmyr Gibbs, Jameson Williams, Sam LaPorta—this roster is deep, young, and (mostly) still on manageable contracts.
But here’s the reality: that window won’t stay open forever. Several of those key players are on rookie deals and set to hit free agency in 2027. That means 2025 and 2026 are prime years to make the big push while Detroit still has the financial flexibility to build around them.
This year is not just about progress—it’s about payoff.
Health: The X-Factor
Of course, talent alone won’t get it done. The 2024 campaign was derailed in part by a wave of injuries, especially on the defensive side. And while the early reports out of OTAs haven’t been too alarming, there are some things to monitor.
Malcolm Rodriguez and Alim McNeill are expected to miss time to start the season, and veteran Alex Anzalone still hasn’t made his OTA debut after recovering from a broken forearm. But there’s some good news too: Aidan Hutchinson is back and looking strong, which could mean serious trouble for opposing quarterbacks this fall.

“Super Bowl or nothing” isn’t just flashy talk. It’s a statement that reflects where the Lions are right now—on the cusp, with everything to play for. It’s bold, it’s risky, and it’s exactly the kind of mindset you want from your leaders when the expectations are sky-high.
