The Washington Commanders are gearing up for their biggest game in years. Dan Quinn’s team is headed to Detroit to battle the Lions for a shot at the NFC Conference Championship. The pressure is on, and they’ll be playing in a tough, hostile environment.
But the Commanders aren’t strangers to tough situations. They’ve beaten the odds all season, and this fairytale run isn’t over yet. But the Lions, who are the No. 1 seed, have had a bye week to recharge and are looking dangerous with a high-powered offense. Aaron Glenn’s defense, while missing some key players, is still a formidable force, and they’ll be making life tough for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.
This is by far the biggest test for Washington, who’s already exceeded expectations just by making it this far. Can they shock the NFL world and pull off another upset, or will the Lions prove they’re the real deal and march on to the final four?

Even though the Commanders are the underdogs, they actually have a solid history against the Lions, leading the all-time series 31-16. But the Lions have been dominant in recent years, winning four out of the last five matchups, including a 36-27 win in 2022.
