The Detroit Lions are gearing up for the NFL Draft, but there’s a big name still floating around in free agency that fans and analysts think they should grab ASAP—Matthew Judon.
Judon, a four-time Pro Bowler and one of the top edge rushers still on the market, could be the perfect guy to line up across from Aidan Hutchinson. We all saw what happened when Hutchinson went down last season—Detroit’s pass rush took a major hit. Adding someone like Judon could help make sure that doesn’t happen again.
Joe Summers from Detroit Jock City is all-in on this idea, saying the Lions should sign Judon “before it’s too late.” And he makes a solid point: Judon might not be Maxx Crosby-level dominant, but the guy still had 5.5 sacks last season and played every game. He’s reliable, proven, and hey—he’s even from Michigan.
The Lions will probably look to the draft for defensive help, but rookies are always a gamble. Judon brings experience, leadership, and could be a game-changer next to Hutch. At 32, he’s got the veteran edge without being washed. If Brad Holmes wants to keep this defense sharp and Super Bowl-ready, Judon might just be the move.
