The Philadelphia Eagles hoped signing Bryce Huff to a three-year, $51 million deal would give them a solid replacement for Haason Reddick, but things didn’t pan out in 2024. Huff only managed a few sacks while battling injuries and inconsistent play, and ended up as a healthy scratch during the Super Bowl.
Now, the Eagles are reportedly looking to trade Huff, and one team that might be interested is the San Francisco 49ers. According to NFL Trade Rumors’ Logan Ulrich, the 49ers could offer a 2026 conditional 6th-round pick for Huff. The fit with San Francisco makes a lot of sense, especially considering Huff thrived under 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh when he was the head coach of the Jets. In Saleh’s system, Huff had a breakout season, recording double-digit sacks.
Huff would be a good addition to the 49ers’ defensive line, giving them more punch alongside star DE Nick Bosa. With Yetur Gross-Matos also in the mix, Huff would focus on pass-rushing duties on third downs while Gross-Matos handles the early downs.
Trading Huff so soon after signing him would be a bold move for the Eagles, but with a young defense, it could be their chance to shake things up and get something valuable in return.
