With the NFL Draft coming up, free agency has slowed down, but there are still some solid veterans up for grabs including a familiar face for Eagles fans: Rasul Douglas.
Douglas, who was drafted by Philly in 2017, was part of the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII-winning squad. Since then, he’s bounced around the league, playing for the Panthers, Packers, and most recently, the Bills. At 29, he’s still proving his value last season, he racked up 58 tackles in 15 games for Buffalo.
According to Spotrac, Douglas is projected to sign a three-year deal worth around $35 million a fair price for a reliable veteran corner. His best years came with Green Bay, where he developed into a ball-hawking playmaker known for clutch interceptions.
Could the Eagles bring him back? It’s not out of the question. Philly could use some depth in the secondary, and Douglas already knows the organization. His size (6-foot-2) makes him a great matchup against bigger receivers, and his experience playing in multiple defensive systems would make for a smooth transition.
Even if he doesn’t return to Philly, Douglas has established himself as a dependable corner with a championship pedigree. No matter where he ends up, Eagles fans will always remember his role in bringing home the franchise’s first Super Bowl title.
