Eminem Joins Push to Bring Women’s Pro Basketball Back to Detroit

Eminem Joins Effort to Bring WNBA Team Back to Detroit

Detroit’s bid for a WNBA expansion team just got a major boost. Rap legend and hometown icon Eminem has joined an investor group aiming to bring women’s pro basketball back to the Motor City. The group includes Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores, Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp, quarterback Jared Goff, and basketball greats Chris Webber and Grant Hill.

While Eminem’s involvement hasn’t been officially confirmed, reports suggest he’s eager to play a role. With NBA Commissioner Adam Silver already backing Detroit’s return to the WNBA, the city’s case is strong. If successful, the new team would play at Little Caesars Arena, reviving the legacy of the Detroit Shock, who won three WNBA titles before relocating in 2010. Adding Eminem to the mix could give Detroit an edge, bringing star power and global attention to the effort.
