Ex-Lions Lineman Urges Team to Chase Myles Garrett After Super Bowl Inspiration

Could Myles Garrett Be the Final Piece for the Lions’ Defense?

The Detroit Lions watched the Eagles dismantle the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, largely thanks to their dominant defensive line. Patrick Mahomes was sacked six times and pressured all game, something Detroit’s defense hoped to do more of in 2024 before injuries derailed their plans.

Former Lions lineman T.J. Lang believes there’s a clear solution—go after Myles Garrett. While Detroit could also target Josh Sweat in free agency or look to the draft, Garrett offers immediate, elite impact. Analyst John Middlekauff even named the Lions one of the best NFC fits for Garrett, saying they are in a win-now window where adding a game-changer like him makes sense.

It would take a massive trade package, but if the Lions were paying attention to the Super Bowl, they might see Garrett as the missing piece to a championship-level defense.
