Ex-Lions QB Steals the Spotlight with Impressive Foul Ball Catch

Former Lions QB Rodney Peete Goes Viral for Impressive Foul Ball Grab
Rodney Peete, the former Detroit Lions quarterback (1989-1993), is making headlines again—this time for his quick reflexes at a baseball game.

While attending a Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chicago Cubs matchup in the 2025 Tokyo Series, Peete reached out and snagged a foul ball, preventing Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy from making the play. The moment, caught on video by Fox Sports MLB, has already racked up over 340,000 views.

The Dodgers didn’t let the play faze them, securing a 6-3 win and sweeping the two-game Tokyo Series. Shohei Ohtani also made noise, crushing his first home run of the season off a 99.1 mph fastball from Cubs reliever Nate Pearson.

Peete, who played 16 NFL seasons, finished his career with 16,338 passing yards, 76 touchdowns, and 92 interceptions. Now, he’s proving that his hands are still as reliable as ever—even in the stands.
