Exclusive: Giants GM Joe Schoen Breaks Down Free Agency & Draft Plans

Joe Schoen Talks Free Agency, Quarterbacks, and Draft Strategy

The New York Giants’ offseason has been a whirlwind, and GM Joe Schoen is at the center of it all. After exploring countless quarterback scenarios, the Giants landed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency, providing veteran leadership and stability at the position. Schoen believes Wilson’s experience, leadership, and deep ball ability will elevate the offense, especially with playmakers like Malik Nabers and Jalin Hyatt.

While quarterback was a priority, Schoen also bolstered the secondary with the signings of Paulson Adebo and Jevón Holland, emphasizing instincts and ball skills to improve the defense’s ability to generate turnovers. He also highlighted the importance of continuity on the offensive line, bringing back all five starters, including Greg Van Roten.

As the NFL Draft approaches, Schoen insists the team has positioned itself to be flexible with the No. 3 pick and beyond. With five picks in the top 105, the Giants are focused on upgrading the roster while maintaining long-term continuity. The draft board is taking shape, and the Giants’ next move will soon be revealed.
