Despite losing offensive mastermind Ben Johnson to the head coaching ranks, one NFL analyst believes the Detroit Lions aren’t about to slow down anytime soon. In fact, the confidence in Detroit’s offensive unit remains sky-high.
During a recent segment, the analyst made it clear: while Johnson played a major role in crafting one of the league’s most explosive offenses, the pieces left behind are more than capable of carrying the load.
With quarterback Jared Goff returning alongside stars like Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jahmyr Gibbs, and a top-tier offensive line, the foundation is strong. Add in the fact that new offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand has already worked closely with the system, and continuity might be better than expected.
“There’s a reason the Lions locked up so much of this roster early,” the analyst said. “They knew change was coming, and they built this offense to withstand it.”
While Johnson’s departure is a significant shift, Detroit seems poised to stay aggressive, creative, and dangerous — especially with Dan Campbell’s leadership and an experienced group of returning veterans.
In other words, don’t count the Lions out just because a big name left town. They’re still loaded, focused, and very much in the hunt for another deep postseason run.
