Fan-Favorite Saints QB Makes a Big Move to the Big Apple

The New York Giants just added a new quarterback to their roster—Jameis Winston! The former Saints QB, who played in New Orleans from 2020-2023, is reportedly signing a two-year deal worth up to $8 million. After the news broke, Winston took to Twitter with a cheeky “Start spreading the neWs.”

Last season, Winston played for the Cleveland Browns, appearing in 12 games and starting in 7. His record as a starter wasn’t great (2-5), but he did put up some impressive numbers, including a 395-yard, two-touchdown performance against his old team in the Superdome.

Before this signing, the Giants only had one QB on their roster—Tommy DeVito—while they wait to see what happens with Aaron Rodgers, who recently visited the Steelers. With the third overall pick in the upcoming draft, New York might still go after Shedeur Sanders, depending on how things play out.

Winston is a fan favorite in New Orleans, known for his community involvement, support for the HBCU Legacy Bowl, and even making Mardi Gras appearances. He also showed off his personality during the Super Bowl as a digital correspondent for FOX.

During his time with the Saints, Winston went 6-4 as a starter, including a strong 5-2 start in 2021 before a season-ending injury against the Bucs. Now, he’s getting a fresh start in New York—let’s see what he can do!
