With the 2025 NFL Draft just around the corner, Lions fans are buzzing about what the team might do with their first pick. To get a sense of what people are thinking, SB Nation Reacts ran a survey asking Detroit fans which position they think the Lions will go for first.
FanDuel Sportsbook shared some odds to give context:
– Defensive Lineman/Edge: -190
– Offensive Lineman: +210
– Wide Receiver: +1500
– Cornerback: +1400
– Safety and Linebacker: both +3800
Not too surprisingly, most fans picked defensive line help as the top priority it’s been a major talking point all offseason. But offensive line wasn’t far behind, with close to 40% of fans thinking the team might go that way too.
Some fans shared their reasoning in the comments:
– Lev_nichills10 thinks GM Brad Holmes might lean toward an offensive lineman since the D-line moves this offseason haven’t been super bold.
– I have the Honolulu Blue’s pointed out that while Holmes tends to surprise people, he’s been hinting for a while that the offensive line is key. With Kevin Zeitler gone, someone like Zabel or Booker could be a fit if they’re still on the board.
– PonceDeLion noted that while the betting odds heavily favor a defensive lineman, Holmes tends to see things differently than everyone else.
– ncbur10 threw in a wildcard pick, saying he’d love to see linebacker Jihaad Campbell land in Detroit.
– Quinny the Pooh added that if the Lions trade up, it’s probably for an edge rusher
if they stay where they are, expect an offensive lineman.
Basically, Lions fans are split between strengthening the trenches on both sides of the ball, but most signs point to defense first. Either way, it’s going to be interesting to see what Brad Holmes does next week.
