First to Fall: 2026 WR Pledges to Alabama Over Top Competition

Alabama football’s 2026 recruiting class is officially on the board — and it’s starting with a bang.

Four-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Monday, choosing Alabama over a host of top-tier programs from the SEC and Big Ten. The dynamic pass-catcher from Benjamin Russell High School (AL) becomes the first wideout — and one of the earliest blue-chip players — to pledge to Alabama’s 2026 class.

Morgan, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound playmaker, held offers from Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Michigan, among others. His decision gives Alabama a crucial early victory in what’s expected to be a fierce recruiting cycle across the country.

Explosive Talent on the Rise

Rated as one of the top receivers in the South, Morgan has gained attention for his elite speed, crisp route-running, and strong hands. He hauled in over 1,200 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore, earning first-team all-state honors and turning heads at camps and showcases nationwide.

“I wanted to go somewhere that pushes me to be great — on and off the field,” Morgan said during his commitment ceremony. “Alabama felt like home, and I believe in what Coach DeBoer and the staff are building.”

DeBoer’s First Skill Player in 2026

This marks a significant win for Kalen DeBoer, who is entering his second full cycle as Alabama’s head coach. After closing strong in 2025, DeBoer and his staff are wasting no time building momentum in 2026.

Morgan’s commitment not only secures a high-upside receiver but also sends a clear message: Alabama remains a premier destination for elite offensive talent, even in a crowded recruiting landscape.

“We loved everything about Cederian’s game — his maturity, his work ethic, and his ability to stretch the field,” one Tide staffer told 247Sports. “He’s just getting started.”

What’s Next for Bama?

With Morgan locked in, Alabama is expected to accelerate its pursuit of other top 2026 prospects, especially on the offensive side. Morgan’s early pledge could serve as a cornerstone to attract more elite playmakers to Tuscaloosa.

“I’m definitely recruiting now,” Morgan added with a smile. “I want this class to be special.”

The 2026 cycle may just be beginning, but Alabama is already off to a championship-caliber start.
