“Flagged and Frustrated: Josh Jacobs Gets Stuck on NFL’s Bad Luck Radar”

Josh Jacobs Is Crushing It — But His Teammates Keep Stealing His Shine

Josh Jacobs had a monster first season with the Green Bay Packers — and the guy barely took a breath. He suited up for all 17 games, bulldozed his way to 1,329 rushing yards, and racked up 15 touchdowns, which is the most he’s scored in a single season so far. Basically, he became a go-to weapon for quarterback Jordan Love, whether it was on the ground or through the air.

But here’s the kicker: his stats could’ve looked even better if not for one major problem his own team kept sabotaging him.

According to a recent NFL report (which, fittingly, dropped on Friday the 13th), Jacobs led the entire league in a wild “bad luck” category. He lost a whopping 94 rushing yards due to penalties. Not his penalties, mind you — these were flags on his teammates. To make it worse, three of his touchdowns got wiped out too, tying him for most called-back TDs in the NFL last season.

So yeah, imagine grinding out a touchdown run, only to turn around and see that little yellow flag on the turf. Brutal.

He wasn’t the only one getting the short end of the stick Lamar Jackson was right behind him with 87 yards erased but Jacobs still came out on top (or bottom?) of this unlucky leaderboard.

Still, the man cooked. He finished fifth among all running backs in total rushing yards, and let’s not ignore his receiving game: 36 catches for 342 yards and a score. His after-the-catch speed even got a highlight reel moment during Sunday Night Football against the Dolphins.

So what’s next? Well, the Packers are hoping to push further than last year’s Wild Card exit. Jacobs is heading into Year 7 and still playing like he’s got something to prove. If his teammates can stop getting flagged every time he breaks loose, this dude could be in for an even bigger season.
