Early projections for Alabama’s schedule suggest that the opener in Tallahassee could be their second-toughest challenge of the season. But some are skeptical about that. If true, that would mean Alabama might have an easier time with teams like LSU, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and others.
Florida State is hoping that Gus Malzahn and some revamped offensive line additions will help them bounce back. The line has been completely rebuilt with four new transfers. Micah Pettus from Ole Miss, Gunnar Hansen from Vanderbilt, Adrian Medley from UCF, and Luke Petitibon from Gonzaga are all expected to start and fix the issues that plagued FSU’s pass protection and running game last year.
Fans are a bit cautious, though. After all, last year’s predictions for FSU’s O-line didn’t exactly pan out. Despite being touted as one of the best in the country, FSU’s line was a letdown. So, while things might improve, it’s hard to imagine the Seminoles suddenly jumping to 10 wins or even reaching eight.
