Forget Trump—Democrats’ Infighting Is the New Problem

Democrats Are Losing the Fight  And Voters Are Furious

Not long ago, the biggest political question was, “How do we stop Trump?” But lately, that’s shifted to, “What the hell is wrong with the Democrats?”

Frustration with Trump hasn’t gone away, but many voters are now just as mad at Democrats for what they see as weak, uncoordinated, and ineffective leadership. People are tired of watching them fumble big moments while Trump and his allies keep pushing their agenda without much resistance.

At a recent rally in Denver, Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez drew a massive crowd of over 30,000 people  one of the biggest events of Sanders’ career. The energy? Less about excitement and more about anger. Democratic voters feel like their party is dropping the ball, and the numbers back that up. A new  Politico report shows only 40% of Democrats approve of their party’s performance  down from 75% just a year ago.

Why Are Democrats Struggling So Much?

1. Weak Responses to Trump
Trump has spent years undermining democratic institutions, but instead of a strong pushback, Democrats have responded with scattered, half-hearted efforts. Take Trump’s addresses to Congress  one or two Democrats spoke out, but most just sat there. Where’s the fight?

2. Embarrassing Budget Vote
The recent budget deal was a disaster. House Democrats opposed the Republican plan, but Senate Democrats led by Chuck Schlumberger caved, letting it pass without getting anything in return. That kind of flip-flopping makes them look weak and disorganized.

3. Bad Strategy
Some party strategists believe Democrats should just sit back and let Trump self-destruct. But waiting for Trump to make a mistake isn’t a plan  it’s a gamble, and one that could cost them big in upcoming elections.

4.  Stuck in the Past
Former President Joe Biden and his wife are now looking to help rebuild and raise money for the party. But considering Biden left office with record-low approval ratings, leaning on him isn’t exactly a winning strategy. The party needs new leadership and fresh ideas   not a return to the old playbook.

     A Wake-Up Call for Democrats

Some rising stars in the party, like Sen. Chris Murphy and Reps. Jamie Raskin and Ro Khanna, are calling for a tougher, more aggressive approach. They want Democrats to stop playing defense and start taking the fight to Trump.

The message is clear: Voters want leaders who share their anger and frustration. If Democrats keep acting like they’re afraid to fight back, they’ll keep losing support. With major elections coming up, the party needs to find its fire fast.
