It’s been a tough stretch for former Lakers champion Lamar Odom. According to new reports, the 45-year-old was recently evicted from his Studio City mansion in Los Angeles after falling behind on $45,000 in rent.
Odom had apparently entered into a verbal rental agreement back in December with a company called Executive Recovery Group Inc., agreeing to pay $15,000 a month. But after missing multiple payments, the group sued him and issued a notice demanding the full amount be paid within three days. When that didn’t happen, the lease was officially terminated in March.
This isn’t the first time Odom’s post-NBA life has taken a rough turn. Since leaving the league in 2013, his personal struggles have been well documented—most notably a near-fatal overdose in 2015, which led to multiple strokes and heart attacks. His high-profile relationship with Khloé Kardashian also unraveled during this period.
Despite battling through addiction and serious health scares, Odom had made efforts toward recovery. But this latest setback is a reminder that the road hasn’t been easy. Once a key player during the Lakers’ title runs, winning two championships and a Sixth Man of the Year award, he now finds himself in a far different fight—one for stability and peace after basketball.
Odom’s story continues to draw attention, not just because of who he was on the court, but because of the human struggles he’s endured off of it.
