Former Lions TE Caden Prieskorn Lands With Broncos After Brief Detroit Stint”

The NFL offseason is heating up as we roll into June, and while the Detroit Lions continue with OTAs, one of their recent roster cuts just found a new home out west.

Tight end Caden Prieskorn, who signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL Draft, is now officially a member of the Denver Broncos. The Lake Orion native got his shot with his hometown team but was waived less than a week later as Detroit’s tight end room—already loaded with Sam LaPorta, Brock Wright, Kenny Yeboah, and Shane Zylstra—left little room for a newcomer.

But Prieskorn isn’t done chasing the dream.

Now he’ll get another shot in Denver, where the Broncos are still shaping their tight end depth behind newly signed starter Evan Engram. Given Engram’s history with injuries, it makes sense for Denver to bolster the room with some upside. Prieskorn, who flashed solid ability at Ole Miss with 850 yards and 7 touchdowns across two seasons, could be a sneaky piece for Sean Payton if he sticks.

It would’ve been a great story to see a Michigan kid suit up for the Lions long-term, but sometimes the fit just isn’t there. Now, he’ll try to make it work in the Mile High City—and with the Lions not on Denver’s schedule this season, revenge will have to wait.
