Former Lions WR Already Dealing with Injury Issues on New Team

It didn’t take long for the injury concerns to resurface.

Former Detroit Lions wide receiver DJ Chark, now with the Atlanta Falcons, is reportedly already missing time in training camp. Chark signed with the Falcons just days ago on a one-year deal, looking to bounce back from a tough 2024 season marked by injuries and inconsistency. Unfortunately, the veteran wideout is now sidelined again — reigniting questions about his long-term durability.

Chark showed flashes of big-play ability during his time in Detroit back in 2022, but recurring injuries have plagued him ever since. After brief stints with the Panthers and Chargers, his production sharply declined. With the Falcons currently thin at receiver due to Darnell Mooney’s injury, Chark had a golden opportunity to make an impact. But now, his absence raises concern that he may not be ready when it counts.

For Lions fans, it’s a frustratingly familiar story: talent that never quite translated into consistent availability.

We’ll see if Chark can bounce back in time to claim a spot on Atlanta’s final roster, but the clock is already ticking.
