Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Deon Cain is making waves in the United Football League—and fast. Now with the Birmingham Stallions, Cain is showing off the kind of playmaking ability that has fans wondering why he isn’t back in the NFL.
In Saturday’s game against the St. Louis Battlehawks, Cain caught just two passes—but they went for a staggering 115 yards and two touchdowns. One of them was a 50-yard catch-and-run that showed his speed, vision, and big-play potential. Despite the Stallions’ 29-28 loss, Cain’s performance turned heads.
In just seven games this season, Cain now leads the UFL in both receiving yards (451) and touchdowns (4). He’s also taken on kick return duties, adding even more value to his already impressive game.
Cain’s NFL journey included stops with the Colts, Steelers, Bills, and Panthers, but nothing stuck after the Bills released him in December 2024. At 28, he’s not done yet—and based on how he’s performing in the UFL, it wouldn’t be surprising if another NFL opportunity comes knocking.
Let’s not forget—Cain was the USFL Championship Game MVP after catching three touchdowns and helped the Stallions win back-to-back titles. If he keeps this up, he might just force his way back into the league.
