Ohio State and Nebraska are set to face off after both teams secured comeback wins in their previous games. The Buckeyes rallied from a 17-point deficit to beat No. 18 Maryland 73-70, with guard Bruce Thornton sinking a banked 3-pointer with 7.8 seconds left.
Meanwhile, the Cornhuskers trailed by 13 points within the first eight minutes and by 10 at halftime but managed to outscore Washington 49-25 in the second half for an 86-72 victory. Nebraska’s Brice Williams led the team with 23 points, 13 of which came in the second half.
The Buckeyes have won four of their last five games, including a comeback win over then-No. 11 Purdue. Coach Jake Diebler praised his team’s resilience, saying, “This group is connected… We’re playing with better attention to detail and we’re playing with more smarter possessions”.
Nebraska, on the other hand, has won three straight games after a six-game losing streak. Coach Fred Hoiberg emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum, saying, “We can’t take our foot off the gas”.
