2025 NFL Awards: Detroit Lions Players, Coaches, and Nominations

The Detroit Lions were well-represented at the 2025 NFL Honors, with 11 nominations across various categories. Here’s a breakdown of the results for Lions nominees and notable winners:

Most Valuable Player: Jared Goff (5th place, 47 points). While Goff didn’t win, it was a milestone season for him, especially with his personal life, as his wife Christen announced they are expecting their first child.

Coach of the Year: Dan Campbell (2nd place, 283 points). Despite a strong showing, Campbell lost out to Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell.

Assistant Coach of the Year: Ben Johnson (1st place, 364 points). Johnson won the award after guiding the Lions’ explosive offense, leading the league in points scored. He left the Lions to become the Chicago Bears’ head coach.

Offensive Player of the Year: Jahmyr Gibbs (8th place). Gibbs had a stellar season, scoring 20 touchdowns, but missed out on the top spots.

Defensive Player of the Year: Kerby Joseph (6th place). Joseph led the league in interceptions, but despite his strong showing, he couldn’t break into the top five.

Comeback Player of the Year: Tim Patrick (6th place). Patrick’s return from injury was a highlight of the Lions’ season.

NFL Fan of the Year: Megan Stefanski. A passionate Lions supporter, Stefanski earned this recognition for her unwavering loyalty and her contributions to the Lions fanbase.

While several Lions players and coaches were honored, it was a bittersweet night with some notable snubs, especially for Dan Campbell as Coach of the Year.
