The New England Patriots have been all about defense this offseason, locking down key players to improve their struggling pass rush and run defense. But what about second-year quarterback Drake Maye?
They finally got him some help by signing four-time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs, but one receiver isn’t enough. That’s where a potential trade comes in.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, fresh off acquiring D.K. Metcalf, might be willing to part ways with George Pickens. A trade proposal suggests sending Pickens to New England in exchange for the Patriots’ second-round pick (38th overall) in the upcoming draft.
For Pittsburgh, this would make sense since they lost their own second-round pick in the Metcalf trade. And for New England, Pickens would bring a much-needed deep threat to their Offense though he does come with some baggage, having a history of fines and disciplinary issues.
The question is, would head coach Mike Vrabel and the Patriots’ culture be enough to get Pickens to fall in line? If so, this trade could be a big win for Maye and the offense.
