From Young Buck to Leader: Trent Fraley Anchors Bison O-Line

Trent Fraley’s football journey has been anything but ordinary. The North Dakota State center, who transferred from Marshall, quickly found himself at the heart of the Bison’s offensive line, helping lead them to a 35-32 victory over Montana State in the FCS national title game. Meanwhile, his father, Hank Fraley, was coaching the Detroit Lions’ offensive line as they made a deep playoff run before falling to Washington.

Now, with a championship under his belt, Trent is stepping into a leadership role. As one of just two returning starters on NDSU’s offensive line, he knows the responsibility that comes with experience. With a new offensive line coach in Dylan Chmura and a likely new starting quarterback in Cole Payton, Fraley is embracing his role in keeping the Bison’s dominance intact. As for the possibility of both the Bison and Lions winning it all next season? “That would be something,” he said.
