Jameis Winston is officially a New York Giant, and he’s making it clear—he’s here to win.
The former Florida State star signed a two-year, $8 million deal (potentially worth up to $16 million) with the Giants, marking the next step in his decade-long NFL career. But he won’t be the only veteran QB in town—New York also brought in Russell Wilson, setting up an interesting competition under center.
Winston isn’t fazed, though. In a video message to fans, he promised to give the franchise everything he’s got.
“I’m so happy and grateful to be in New Jersey signing—almost said my letter of intent—but my contract with the New York Football Giants,” Winston said. “It’s going to be an exciting year, we’re going to win a lot of football games… I’m going to give my all to you, you better believe it. Please give your all, give me your critics, give me your praises, give me everything you got because that’s what I’m giving to you and my teammates. Love you. God bless you. Go Big Blue!”
His family joined in on the celebration, with Winston posting an “Officially a Giant” message on social media.
Last season, Winston stepped up for the Browns when Deshaun Watson went down, delivering some memorable moments—including a viral snow-angel celebration after beating the Steelers on Thursday Night Football. In 12 games (seven starts), he threw for 2,121 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, plus a rushing score.
Winston’s journey has been full of ups and downs, but his college legacy at Florida State remains legendary. He led the Seminoles to a national title in 2013, became the youngest Heisman winner ever, and finished his college career with a 26-1 record. His name is still all over the FSU record books, and in 2023, the school retired his jersey.
Now, he’s aiming to make a fresh mark in New York. Whether he wins the starting job or not, Winston is bringing his trademark energy and confidence to the Giants.
