The New York Giants haven’t signed wide receiver Gabe Davis… but they did buy him dinner.
Recently released by the Jaguars, Davis paid a visit to East Rutherford this week to meet with familiar faces—GM Joe Schoen, head coach Brian Daboll, and assistant QB coach Chad Hall—all of whom worked with him back in Buffalo. The reunion didn’t end in a contract, but it did come with a sit-down dinner and some familiar vibes.
Schoen called it “just a little get-to-know meeting” and added that Davis was checking out the facility, getting a feel for the staff, and catching up with old connections. No signing was announced, but Schoen admitted they’ll “see if anything transpires down the road.”
The Giants could definitely use another weapon alongside rookie Malik Nabers. Davis, if healthy, would be a clear upgrade over Jalin Hyatt and bring a deep-threat presence the team sorely lacks.
For now, it’s all appetizers and small talk—but the familiarity and roster need make Davis a name to watch in New York.
