The Detroit Lions’ defense is definitely going to be a hot topic this offseason as the team focuses on rebuilding their defensive line. The 2025 draft class has a ton of defensive line talent that could give Kelvin Sheppard’s squad a major boost.
During the first night of workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine, we saw a lot of impressive performances from defensive tackles and edge rushers, showing off their speed, agility, and strength. While some of the top prospects didn’t participate, those who did definitely made their mark, proving why teams are going to be fighting for them.
On the latest Lone Wolves Lions podcast, the hosts highlighted some early standouts, including James Pearce and Shermar Stewart. But one guy who really caught attention for his sheer size was Landon Jackson from Arkansas.
Christian Booher, one of the co-hosts, had this to say: “Landon Jackson may not have had the flashiest stats, but he’s impossible to miss because of his size. At 6’6″ and 264 pounds, this guy is huge, and it shows when he’s on the field. He really stands out during drills with his power and strength, getting off blocks with ease. If Jackson is available in the second round, the Lions would be crazy not to grab him.”
The episode also covered comments from Lions coordinators, Dan Campbell, and Brad Holmes, plus the team’s decision to part ways with veteran linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin.
