Germany and UK Warn Citizens: Is America Becoming a Risky Destination?

Germany and UK Warn Citizens About Traveling to the U.S. Amid Rising Concerns

Both Germany and Britain have updated their travel advisories, warning citizens about potential risks when visiting the U.S. This comes after multiple reports of travelers facing harsh treatment at the border, fueled by stricter entry policies under the Trump administration.

Britain’s new guidance warns travelers that breaking U.S. entry rules   even unintentionally   could lead to arrest or detention. Meanwhile, Germany’s advisory reminds citizens that having a visa or entry waiver doesn’t guarantee they’ll be allowed in, following several recent detentions of German nationals.

One shocking case involved 28-year-old British graphic artist Rebecca Burke, who was detained for 19 days despite believing she had followed all the correct procedures. Her father described the ordeal as “inhumane,” comparing her treatment to that of a dangerous criminal.

These incidents, combined with Trump’s controversial rhetoric and economic policies, are hitting U.S. tourism hard. Reports suggest international travel to America could drop by at least 5% this year, costing the industry around $64 billion. Canadian tourism alone is expected to decline by 15%, potentially costing the U.S. over $2 billion, as more travelers opt for destinations outside the U.S.

With foreign leaders advising their citizens to reconsider trips to the States, and travelers sharing negative experiences, the American tourism industry could be facing a serious downturn.
