“Get a Therapist”: LeVar Arrington Torches Jared Goff’s Trade Complaints

Jared Goff got real on Netflix’s Quarterback series — maybe a little too real for some folks.

In the show’s second season, Goff opened up about feeling “blindsided” by the Rams trading him to Detroit back in 2021. And while the moment felt honest and emotional, not everyone was moved by the QB’s vulnerability. Former NFL linebacker LeVar Arrington, for one, had zero sympathy.

On FOX Sports Radio, Arrington didn’t hold back:

> “Quarterbacks must have an alternate reality than other players… You felt you were ‘blindsided’ by it? That happens to players every day.”

And he’s not wrong — the NFL is a business. Goff isn’t the first player to get shipped out after a playoff letdown, and he won’t be the last. But Arrington went further, essentially saying Goff needs to stop whining and maybe talk to a therapist if he’s still bothered by it.

Goff, in case you forgot, was the No. 1 overall pick, got paid over $400 million in career earnings, and has now rebuilt himself into a franchise guy in Detroit. Not bad for someone who was supposedly “done.”

But Arrington’s argument is simple: Goff was inconsistent when it mattered, and the Rams went and got a vet in Stafford who delivered them a ring. It worked out for both teams — so why is Goff still salty?

Whether you side with the brutally honest linebacker or the quarterback who wore his heart on his sleeve, one thing is clear: this Rams-Lions trade saga still stirs up real emotions. And with the Lions now contenders, Goff has a shot to rewrite the ending — just maybe with fewer sob stories.
