Giants Could Sign Russell Wilson—But Shedeur Sanders Still in Their Draft Plans

The New York Giants are on the hunt for a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter thinks they’ll take one—even if they sign veteran QB Russell Wilson.

With the third overall pick, the Giants could land Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward, and according to Schefter, it’s a no-brainer to grab one of them. If they do, that would create a wild QB room featuring Wilson, Jameis Winston, and a rookie—especially if that rookie is Sanders, the son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.

Stacking Up the QB Room

Russell Wilson (36) – Super Bowl champ, veteran leader, likely starter if signed.

Jameis Winston (31) – Former No. 1 pick, erratic but experienced, signed a two-year, $8M deal.

Shedeur Sanders (21) – Potential franchise QB, son of “Prime Time.”

If the Giants sign Wilson and draft Sanders, they’d have three quarterbacks capable of starting. That could be a huge investment, but it might also set them up for long-term success.

What’s the Plan?

The Giants might be betting on Wilson or Winston as mentors, letting Sanders develop before taking over. But there’s also the chance that if Sanders is gone at No. 2, they pass on drafting a QB altogether and stick with Wilson and Winston instead.

Either way, the Giants’ QB situation is already looking better than last season, and they could be one of the most intriguing teams to watch—even if they’re not the best on paper.
